Aparna AchuthanMumbai City Head
As a City Head, Aparna supports school principals in developing their schools. Before joining ISLI, Aparna studied at the University of Pennsylvania where she earned an M.S in Non-profit Leadership. Prior to that, she worked at Pratham as a Regional Coordinator (Placements). Aparna began her career as part of the first cohort of the 2-year Teach for India fellowship program where she taught grades 2 and 3 in a municipal school in Mumbai.
She holds an M.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Mumbai and B.A. in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Aparna is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and enjoys listening to music, reading and meeting new people.
Souvik BhattarcharyaStrategy Lead, Mumbai
As the Strategy Lead, Souvik works closely with budget schools' leaders in the City Fellowship Programme. Prior to working in ISLI, Souvik, as a Teach For India fellow, taught middle school math and science in a low income school in Mumbai for two years, and helped his students to rank in the Math and Science SOF Olympiads.
A teacher at heart, Souvik is also an electrical engineer on the side, and has worked on designing switchgear and automation solutions for Siemens Ltd. for two years. In his free time, he is often found strolling around on GMAT/GRE forums helping test takers on the content and the psychology aspect of standardized tests, rebuilding his iTunes library, and act as a mediator when fights break out between apple and android fanboys.
Sudhakshina MallikProgramme Lead
Sudakshina has been working in the development sector for thirteen years, with a focus on education. She has worked on managing implementation, grant making and knowledge management in the Education industry.
She has done her M.Phil in Education from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Sudakshina loves reading and listening to music in her free time.
